Former Chevy Chase Fencing Club fencer Katharine Holmes received the International Fencing Federation’s (FIE’s) Fair Play Award at the 2018 FIE Congress in Paris, France this weekend. The award is one of only three presented each year world-wide by the FIE. Kat also accepted the World Cup Medal on behalf of the US Women’s Epee Team. The US team, anchored by Kat, is ranked the #1 women’s epee team in the world. Also on the US women’s epee team is Kelley Hurley, and Courtney Hurley (alternates: Amanda Sirico, Kasia Nixon, Natalie Vie).
