No Fencing Classes – Saturday, January 20

Because Montgomery County Public Schools have now closed for the day because of the weather, there will be no fencing private lessons or club practice today, Saturday, January 20. Remember, our weather cancellation policy follows that of the Montgomery County Public Schools.  Should MCPS close schools for the day, dismiss early, or cancel activities DUE TO WEATHER, then we will not have fencing classes, private lessons or practice.

Status of Group Classes

Group classes for kids and adults are expected to resume. We are still awaiting a contract from the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. Because of the Capitol Clash Tournament at the Gaylord Convention Center in National Harbor, MD we will not have fencing club practice on Saturday, January 18.  We have 12 CCFC fencers competing in the tournament on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  Come watch the tournament! Footwork Practice – Thursday, August 15

Footwork practice will be every Thursday evening, 7:00-7:30pm. Everyone should come to the footwork practice session tonight, Thursday, August 15, 7:00-7:30pm.  Footwork is an essential element of our fencing strategy and everyone at Chevy Chase needs to improve their footwork technique. Group Classes to Start in January!

Group classes are scheduled to start in January. The Junior Epee Program (ages 8 to 12) will begin on Saturday, January 5.  The first Beginning Junior Epee class will meet at 11:00am.  The Intermediate Junior Epee class will meet at 1:00pm.  Junior Epee Club practice will meet on Saturdays, 2:00-3:30pm and Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm.  Depending on the number of students in the program, the Beginning Junior Epee class may be moved
