Registration for our winter semester group classes is now open. Epee classes for children ages 8 to 12 will be on Saturdays. Adult foil classes (ages 13 and above) will meet on Wednesday evenings. A Foil Grand Prix international tournament is coming to the DC Convention Center, Friday, March 15 through Sunday, March 17. I urge everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to watch the top fencers in the world. This is an Olympic year, so everyone is fencing their best to make their country’s Olympic team. Because Montgomery County Public Schools have now closed for the day because of the weather, there will be no fencing private lessons or club practice today, Saturday, January 20. Remember, our weather cancellation policy follows that of the Montgomery County Public Schools. Should MCPS close schools for the day, dismiss early, or cancel activities DUE TO WEATHER, then we will not have fencing classes, private lessons or practice.
Group classes for both adults (ages 13 and above) and children (ages 8 to 12) will be starting after New Years Day. The first adult foil class will be on Wednesday, January 3. The first children's class will be Saturday, January 6. Registration must be done online.

Beginning April 11, fencing club and private lessons will be scheduled 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Group classes for kids and adults are expected to resume. We are still awaiting a contract from the DC Department of Parks and Recreation. The Chevy Chase Fencing Club has resumed practices at the Chevy Chase Community Center. Practice and private lessons (by appointment) are for experienced fencers with their own full uniform and equipment and are competitive members of USA Fencing.
