Former CCFC fencer and Olympian Kat Holmes finished 6-0 in the first round of pools at the 2018 World Championships in Wuxi, China. She received only 7 touches against her finishing at first seed. Chevy Chase Fencing Club had two fencers competing in three events at the Summer National Championships and won three medals. Bettie Graham earned 7th place in both the Veteran-70 Women's Epee and Veteran-70 Women's Foil. Mark Henry won 7th place in the Veteran-70 Men's Epee. There will be no fencing club practice during the month of July. We resume practice in August. The Junior Epee Club will meet only on Tuesdays, 6:30pm to 7:30pm, beginning on August 7. After Labor Day, September 3, the Junior Epee Club will practice twice a week, Tuesdays, 6:30pm-7:30pm and Saturdays, 2:00pm-3:30pm. The first Saturday practice will be September 8.
